Peace in trouble....

 John 16:33 ESV

"I have said these things to you, that in me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation. But take hear; I have overcome the world."  (Jesus)

Today, Kids and families seem to face more troubles than anyone can imagine. The recent Pandemic with its isolation and the loss of so many lives,  the inflated cost of living for families, and even education systems that would rather teach gender and race identity than math, reading and real life skills, just to name a few.  I have never seen kids under more attack than I see today.

At Kidsfirst Ministries we say, "Kids are the most overlooked, underrated people on the planet."

What we seeing unfold today continues to affirm that statement.  These challenges continue to make their way into the church as well.  That is where Pastors, Kids and Student Ministry leaders struggle to deal with the counter-Christian values, lifestyles and agendas which are being pumped  straight into the students life at light speed. Yes, at light speed with just one click, one reel, one meme, one video game character, one subtle idea in a cartoon, the enemy of our soul comes only to kill, steal and destroy God's most precious ones.

Sometimes it looks like this tsunami is just too great to overcome . But that is not simply not so!  Leaders, stop and take a look at what Jesus says in the book of books.  He tells you to take heart for He has already won the battle (overcome) all these things and He offers you peace in the middle of the trouble.   He not only offers you this as a leader but to your kids and families as well.  God's peace can reign in the center of your church, your ministry, family and  your neighborhood. I am reminded that where the Spirit of the Lord is there is freedom. Freedom from what?  Freedom from worry about your future (even eternity), your fear,s and so much more. ( 2 Corinthians 3:17)

When any trouble come our way,  and it will! We can trust what Jesus said,  Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you. Not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your hearts be troubled, neither let them be afraid.

Turn your eyes on Jesus, for  He holds your present and your future in His loving hands. You can trust Him.   If you are facing things today whether personally or in your ministry,  Jesus will surround you; he will give you wisdom to handle it and of course, He promises His peace.

Pray that, speak that and model that for your Kids and families - then watch Jesus show up in the middle of the trouble with peace.

Lord, surround my friends today with your peace. Let it permeate their mind and heart. Let them be refreshed and strengthened.   You are more than enough for the challenges that are facing them. In Jesus name. Amen!
